On August 23, 2008 the overabundant rainfall of tropical storm Fay became sheet flow in the Imperial River basin and flooded parts of Bonita Springs. New Horizon’s Super Kids Club serves the children of Manna Christian R.V. Park who were evacuated from their homes and placed in the shelter located at the Estero Community Park. New Horizons continued to provide after school tutoring and homework assistance while the children were living in the shelter and sought to reduce the tension in the shelter by taking the children on Saturday field trips and Sunday church outings. With only 20% of the units at Manna Christian deemed habitable after the flood, New Horizons continues to reach out to the affected families through education and the message of hope with God’s love.

On November 9, Opera Naples' Community Outreach director, Robin Shuford Frank, ON Founding Director, Steffanie Pearce, performers from the ON Young Artists Program and the SuperKids of Bonita will be joined by Jazz diva, Rebecca Richards and Tony Polara, a Las Vegas band singer in a benefit concert of traditional Sacred songs, contemporary Gospel and Patriotic songs.
